A parliamentary aspirant for the Turbo constituency Kevin Okwara has expressed concerns over delay in announcing the official results for the seat's ticket.
Okwara claims delays are part of a plot to deny him the party certificate by manipulating votes.
Addressing the press at the Noble Hotel in Eldoret town, Wednesday, Okwara, an Eldoret businessman, said he had won the nominations and wondered why the Returning Officer had declined to officially announce him as the winner.
He now wants president Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to intervene.
"We are aware that some people have been going round saying they will not allow an outsider to be an MP in their county and this clearly explains what has happened today," said Okwara.
"I expected to be declared the winner after having the highest votes against other competitors as the law is very clear that the winner gets the certificate but I am surprised we are being told to wait," he added.
Provisional results indicated that Okwara had garnered 9,900 votes against 7,000 votes that his closest competitor Janet Koech had received.
However the Returning Officer under unclear circumstances declined to officially announce the result that would allow the winner to be presented with provisional certificate.
