Police have been urged to beef up security in Molo following rising
cases of crime in the area with a recent case on Sunday where livestock were reportedly stolen.
Residents have been spending sleepless nights following resurgence of a crime wave.
According to Alice Wanja, a resident in Ndenderu village, cattle rustlers terrorized locals on Sunday night.
“In some cases we are left with no option but to lock our livestock inside our houses at night but the rustlers still manage to steal," she said.
Turi ward Mca Michael Wang’ombe urged Anti-Stock Theft Unit police to intervene.
“There is need for the National Police Service to consider deploying anti stock theft unit police officers in the area to address this matter,” he said.
Jackson Mbugua, a victim, said they lost tens to cattle to rustlers.
