Lokichogio Secondary School students that were taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) after they were attacked and injured are in a stable condition.
MTRH CEO Dr. Wilson Aruasa said they are now out of danger.
"I can confirm that we received 5 boys and 3 girls who had various degrees of injuries on the legs, abdomen, and chest," he said in Eldoret town, Wednesday.
"All of them have undergone special surgery and are now stable and recovering well, therefore, no cause of alarm," he added.
He reiterated that the students will be discharged at different times as the fully recover.
"I want to assure parents of the affected students that their children's are in good hands and they are responding to medications well," noted Dr. Aruasa.
The attack, blamed on Abraham Lochor, a fellow student from South Sudan, left five students and a school watchman dead and 18 with gunshot wounds.
