Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok has declared that the county is firmly in the opposition, NASA amid inroads by Jubilee Party to get a share of the region's votes.
Speaking during an interview on a local TV station, Nanok dared Senator John Munyes who recently decamped to Jubilee Party from Ford Kenya to vie against him in the August poll.
The ODM national vice chairman added that he will floor Munyes hands down.
The Governor was also quick to downplay his deputy's decision to offer himself as Munyes' running mate in the August 8 general election terming it as inconsequential.
He noted that the move will not affect his re-election bid as he has made significant inroads in his opponent's strongholds.
Nanok also slammed his opponents for allegedly hiring youth to disrupt the ODM leader Raila Odinga's rally in the area last week.
He termed the incident primitive and called on Kenyans to embrace peaceful campaigns in future.
Turkana County is considered one of the swing counties in the run to the August polls and Nanok is Raila's point man to deliver the region's votes for the opposition.
