Struggling Kenya Premier League side Tusker has offloaded four players from their squad in a clear-out that started last December.
The offloaded players are Paul Odhiambo, David Mwangi, Edwin Lavatsa and Collins Shivachi who has been loaned to Kakamega Homeboyz.Lavatsa has had a nightmare outing with the brewers after his timely move from Bandari and it has meant that he has to be released just six months into his contract at Tusker. The former Bandari superstar had a blistering season at Gor Mahia before heading to the coast. His decline has come at a bad time of his career and its everyone's hope that he finds a good club and revives the career that saw him win the KPL trophy with Gor.Ther Brewers' communications director, however, declined to comment on the whereabouts of Shivachi, saying she had no clue what had happened to him."So far, only Mwandi, Odhiambo and Lavatsa have been released. I don't know about the whereabouts of Shivachi," he said when he spoke to the media.Tusker released a total of 14 players in December and are still in a long-term project to start reliving the gone glory days.Coach Robert Matano faces a race against time to turn around their fortunes considering they are 13th on the log and face a real danger of dropping into the relegation battle. It remains to be seen how they proceed with the remaining players and how they work their way towards the top of the table.
