Kenya Premier League outfit Tusker FC are considering instituting legal proceedings against former Ulinzi Stars player Stephen Waruru for an alleged double signing.
According to a source from the club,Waruru had earlier signed a two-year deal with then before signing another three-year deal with rivals Sofapaka last Friday.
The source revealed that they were surprised to see the diminutive striker pen another deal with Batoto Ba Mungu barely a week after they had agreed on everything.
"Waruru signed a contract with us,we have been trailing him after his exit from Ulinzi and we were happy to have acquired his signature but we are shocked to see him signing for Sofapaka, that is double signing and it is against the rules. We will definitely take action on the matter," the source told local sports website ,Goal.com.
Waruru had an impressive 2017 campaign with Ulinzi Stars where he bagged 13 Kenya Premier League goals and registered several assists.
He however announced his exit from the Soldiers on the last day of the league amid disquiet that he was not getting enough playing time.
What followed was a back and forth in his transfer plans with both clubs saying they had acquired his services although he remained quiet during the entire scramble. However,in an interview with Sportpesanews on Saturday, the veteran goal poacher announced that he had settled on Sofapaka.
Neither Waruru nor officials from Sofapaka could be reached for comments on the matter.
