The club hopes to wrestle the title from Gor Mahia, but their rebuilding process was halted after the current champions nicked their best central player Humphrey Mieno.

Nzuki’s contract with the Nakumatt camp had expired, and Tusker got him on a free transfer. The attacking midfielder, who can play as a withdrawn striker, was instrumental for the retailers, helping them earn promotion in 2016.

The Brewers were in dire need of an experienced midfielder, especially after losing Mieno, and Nzuki comes in as a perfect fit in the middle of the park.

The former Kenya Premier League champions dropped a massive 14 players, after a disappointing campaign where they lost their title to Gor Mahia.

Tusker CEO Charles Obiny has indicated that they expect more players before the new season begins, as they continue the re-building.

“What is happening is we are bringing in players as per the recommendations of the coaches,” Obiny said when he spoke to journalists.

“Going by results from last season, the general feeling in the squad is that we can do better. That is why we are trying to bolster the squad as much as possible,” he added.
