Tuskys Supermarket has closed its popular Beba Beba branch on Tom Mboya Street after 11 years, marking the second store shut down by the retailer since the beginning of the year. The Supermarket has blamed a new landlord for the closure of the branch saying the landlord of the building(the Bank of Baroda) has sold it off to a developer who has decided to redevelop the property into smaller shops, occasioning the outlet’s closure.“Tuskys’ family sad today to have to lose Beba Beba branch. It was much more than just a branch. Nostalgic!” Dan Githua, the retailer’s chief executive, said on Twitter as quoted by a local daily. It said the branch’s 104 staff would be absorbed in its other branches.
