Tutors in youth polytechnics in Kisii County have threatened to demonstrate come next week if the county government won't pay them their salaries.

According to them, they have never been paid their salaries in the last 27 months hence, they plan to demonstrate to the Kisii county government offices to compel Governor James Ongwae to pay them.

Addressing the press in Kisii town the tutors led by their chairman Steve Nyang’au said that since the polytechnic institution was devolved they have been having a rough time because they don’t get their salaries.

“We have our children in various schools who need school fees from us but we don’t have money because the county government has never paid us,” said Nyang’au.

“We ask our Kisii Governor James Ongwae to pay us our salaries of 27 months we are suffering as polytechnics teacher even getting food is difficult we have nowhere to depend on,” added Nyang'au.
