Speaking from his office on Saturday, the administrative officer promised to bring the youth together and get mentors from different fields to mentor them. This was during a mentorship session he had held at his office.

“You may assume that you know some of these things but I beg you to always have an open mind. What our guests have to share with us today may sound like common knowledge but let’s look at it from a different perspective and try to apply it in our day to day life,” advised the chief at the opening of the session.

The speakers on that day included a lecturer from Mount Kenya University who spoke on Group dynamics, Joseck Olala an IT expert from the Kenya National Library who spoke on work opportunities available online and Martin Macharia a financial consultant and youth mentor who talked on investments.

“Most of us are generally ashamed at the state of our wallets and purses most of the time. Lack of money even for those who are in employment is a common malady that can however be easily cured by following a few rules,” said Macharia to the attentive group.

The financial adviser talked on the importance of saving and the wise investment of savings.

“Don’t you ever say you have nothing to save, even the least amount of money can contribute to your savings and all we have to do is to decide to make a saving of ten percent of every coin that passes through your hands,” was part of the advice Macharia shared.
