Speaking at Lanet Primary School on Friday where the filters will be distributed to residents, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri lauded Chief Kariuki for using technology to connect to the outside world and perform other social duties beyond the confines of local administration.

“I have praised Senior Chief Kariuki for always minding the welfare of his people. Through Senior Chief Kariuki's worldwide contacts, the administrator has been able to secure resources aimed at improving the welfare of his Lanet Umoja Ward,” said Ngunjiri.

The MP also said Chief Kariuki has set the bar high for other chiefs in the country to offer service with passion and put the public’s interest first.

“He has set the bar for other chiefs and also leaders in general to show that we can use the positions we have in society to change our status and impact positive transformation on many lives,” he said.

On his part, Chief Kariuki said embracing technology can change the lives of Umoja residents.

“Positive embrace of technology can change many things and in this digital era, let us all do something for one another,” he said.
