Twelve Karuromo residents, in Kangema were on Monday rushed to Murang'a District Hospital after consuming meat of a cow suspected to have died of Anthrax.
They said they received the meat from a neighbor identified as John Gichinga.
The victims complained of diarrhea and frequent vomit before they were rushed to Kangema Health Centre.
They were later referred to Murang'a District Hospital.
Murang’a County Health Chief Officer Joseph Mbai warned the affected from consuming un-inspected meat.
“We have mobilised public health officers to conduct health education in Karuromo and neighboring villages urging those who could have consumed the infected beef to seek treatment,” said Mbai.
This follows an incident where one person died while 25 others were admitted Thursday last week, after consuming un-inspected meat in Giatutu village.
