The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party received renewed life after resigned vice chairman and Funyula Member of Parliament Paul Otuoma made a retreat and returned to the party.
Speaking in Siaya during the burial ceremony of former Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia coach James Siang'a, Otuoma said that all their previous grievances in the party had already been addressed and therefore there was no longer need to ditch the party where he was a founder member.
"I am one of the founder members of ODM party. I cannot quit when almost all of our grievances have been met ranging from devolution to IEBC," he said.
Otuoma further said that he was ready to retain his seat as the party vice chairman if it was given back to him and added that it was better they solved their internal party issues from behind closed doors.
"At times we need to solve some things at home. The rift in Budalangi and ODM should stop. If there is a fight in a household, it should be solved in the household," he said.
He revealed that he had reached the decision after holding successful talks with party leader Raila Odinga on Friday.
Earlier, Otuoma together with Sirisia MP John Waluke and their Budalangi counterpart Ababu Namwamba had all left the party citing frustration from Raila’s close people in the party’s leadership.
