Despite the controversy surrounding Kenya's October presidential repeat poll, two African leaders may have after all endorsed the outcome.

Electoral body, IEBC, declared President Uhuru Kenyatta the winner of the widely boycotted poll in which only 38 percent of the registered voters turned up having scored 98 percent.

But even with the opposition team terming the exercise as 'sham', the presence of two former African presidents at the Bomas of Kenya is by itself a huge boost to IEBC.

Tasked to be in charge of African Union observer group, former South African President Thabo Mbeki had earlier given the poll a clean bill of health.

Similarly, Ex Zambian President, Rupiah Banda, represented the Commonwealth team despite the team has announced its withdrawal prior to the poll.

Already, EAC under the leadership of President Yoweri Museveni has sent a congratulatory message to Uhuru.

'On behalf of the EACC that I chair, I congratulate Uhuru Kenyatta following his reelection as Kenya's president," read his tweet.

Unlike in the August polls though, Observer groups are yet to publicly make submissions on the credibility of the poll.
