The Medical Practitioners Board on Thursday conducted a crackdown that saw three health Centers closed down and two practitioners arrested.
Confirming the incident the CEO of Kenya Medical Practitioners Board Daniel Yumbya stated the crackdown was to ensure medical centres offering services are up to standard.
"On Tuesday and Wednesday we visited 15 medical centres in Machakos and we closed down 3 of them and arrested 2 suspects who were operating without proper licenses and unqualified personnel," said Yumbya who further stated the main reason for conducting the crackdown was to ensure Kenyans receive best services.
Yumbya further congratulated the clinical officers and nurses operating withing the set quality standards.
"What has been great is the cleanliness and medical equipments in Machakos Level 5 hospital and the private health centres should follow in the same steps,"he added
The committee crackdown has been supported by the Machakos County Minister of Health Naomi Mutie.
"I have visited different hospitals during the crackdown because we want to ensure they operate within the set norms and standards when it comes to offering affordable and quality treatment,"said Mutie
