Police in Kisii have arrested two people believed to be behind torching of houses to suspected linked to kidnapping of 60-year-old pastor.
Kisii South OCPD David Mburikwa confirmed the incident adding that the two have been inciting locals to engage in violent protests.
"Today we managed to arrest two suspects who we believe were directly involved in burning a number of houses in Bokeire.
"The information we have is that they belong to an outlawed group Sungu Sungu and we will ensure that they are arraigned in court as soon as we complete the investigation," said Mburukwa
Mburukwa further warned all those who are taking law into their hands that they will be arrested as the police have intesified the search of the Pastor who went missing few weeks ago.
"So far we haven't managed to trace pastor, Esther Bochaberi, since her disappearance. However, a team of CID officers are on location to ensure that she is found,"said Mburukwa
