Two Mwala Uwezo fund officials spent their weekend in police custody after they were arrested over corruption allegations.
The two, Alex Musyoka who the area Uwezo fund Chairman and Michael Kauve who is a member were arrested by EACC officials at Mwala, Machakos county on Friday evening.
According to Machakos EACC Director Susan Kanyeki, the two are expected to be arraigned in court on today, Monday.
Susan has added that the commission has been hunting the two for a long time for embezzling the Uwezo fund money set to benefit Mwala youths.
“We have being investigating allegations over embezzlement of Mwala sub-county funds by the chairman and some members.”
Susan also said the two will be facing cases of funds embezzlement, forgery among other charges.
She warned other officials involved in corruption deals that it may take la ong time to catch up with them but EACC will eventually get a hold of them.
She also urged residents to work with the commission to help them get enough evidence that will be used to arraign corruption suspects in court.
