Police on Friday arrested two men in Nyamira town after being found in possession of bhang worth Sh3 million.
Confirming the incident, Nyamira police boss Rico Ngare said police officers raided the hotel room the two suspects were sleeping after they were given a tip off by the hotel management.
He added that they arrived there on time to ensure that the suspects do not escape.
Rico also said the officers found six and half bags of bhang and 30 litres of ethanol that they suspect was to be used to manufacture second generation brews.
“The two suspects have been locked at Nyamira police station as we launch investigation to know where they came from and the source of the bhanga and ethanol and later on take them to court,” he added.
The police boss said they will enhance patrols within the town and other markets within the county so as to weed the county off drug.
He at the same time called on members of the public to continue volunteering information about drug dealers saying they will not disclose the source of their information.
