Two people were Friday arrested while two of their accomplices escaped when the Kisumu Fly Squad team trailed the four following a tipoff from the public. The four were riding a Probox vehicle out of Kisumu town towards Busia when the police were alerted of their suspicious engagements. George Omondi, a witness, said that the four were on a free rolling speed near the Kisumu International Airport. "They almost knocked down the police who usually man traffic near the airport. They were driving in a speed that was no less than 150 kilometres per hour," he said. The police followed the four to Tiengre, Otonglo where they lost control of their vehicle and veered off the road, hitting a culvert. "They saw that the police were catching up with them, and they tried to change direction. The police fired once in the air and the two ran very fast," Omondi said. The two were taken to Central police station for further questioning.
