Police in Kibera on Wednesday arrested two people ferrying donkey meat on a motorbike.

Confirming the incident, Kilimani OCPD, Peter Katam said the two were arrested at Olympic stage area heading to Katwekera to sell the meat to unsuspecting butcheries and consumers.

According to Katam the suspects have been trading donkey meat in the area for a while now and they have been carrying investigations to ensure that they arrest them,

“We will not tolerate this at all and all we want is to ensure that we bring sanity in the region and the two arrested will serve as an example to those involved in the business.

He added that the duo is currently being held at the Kilimani Police Station awaiting court trial for their crime.

He urged locals to avoid consuming unsuspected meat or meat has no stamp from public health officers and to ensure the meat they eat is well sterilised.
