Police in Tala town last evening arrested two middle-aged men with military uniforms.
One man was wearing a jungle green military jacket and a military cap while the other, who had dreads, was wearing a pair of green military trousers, the officers said.
They were arrested outside two wines and spirits pubs unaware chewing miraa.
More than 10 armed officers drawn from the administration police stormed the area and caught the men unaware. The two men appeared calm and even smiled after the arrest.
According to one officer involved in the operation, who sought anonymity, they were acting after a receiving a tip off from the public.
He said, “We were informed of suspicious men in military uniform by a member of the public. We will interrogate the two guys to know the source of the uniform and their intention."
It was not clear what the intention of the two men was and whether they had committed crimes elsewhere.
They were taken to Tala police post for questioning and are scheduled to be taken in court on Thursday.
