Two men were on Thursday nabbed with bhang in Athi River Sub County, Machakos County.
Dennis Wathome (27) and Maurice Kamau (26) were arrested at Makanisani area in Mlolongo Phase three village by administration police officers.
They were found with 77 rolls of bhang and tools used to prepare the consignment into consumable products.
Speaking to this writer at the scene of arrest, an officer not authorized to talk to the press said they acted on a tip off from members of the public.
“The two have for a long time been a problem in this area, we have today arrested them where we can refer to as their factory since they prepare bhang into consumable products at the joint before they peddle it to their clients,” said the officer.
He said Wathome, popularly known in the region as “Deno” was a hardcore bhang peddler and had reportedly been in the trade in Mlolongo town for more than ten years.
The officer said school children and prostitutes in Mlolongo’s Madharau Street were the main clients of the arrested men.
The culprits were taken to Mlolongo Police Station.
