Two babies have died at a hospital in Machakos County. They died at a private facility, Athi River Medical Hospital in Mavoko Sub County on Sunday morning. The infants had been reportedly sharing an incubator before they died.
The hospital’s doctor in charge David Omega confirmed the deaths.
Addressing the press at his office in the hospital on Sunday, he termed the 4.00am incident unfortunate.
Omega said the children had been born under cesarean on Friday and Saturday respectively and were premature.
“These are unfortunate things and they happen when babies are premature, I am depressed that I can lose two babies in one night,” said Omega.
Omega said it was unfortunate they did their best but lost them.
