Two boys from Murang'a county have touched the hearts of many after their story of bravery was highlighted on social media by a netizen.
The two are said to have rescued their pregnant mother when a landslide occurred in Gitugi village Muranga.
The family of the two is said to have been on the move after the landslides. As they moved to safer grounds, they were to cross a river which had flooded.
"Their mother who is pregnant accidentally tripped and water swept her away. Helplessly, she waved her two boys as a sign that it was over.
The two boys, barely ten, could not stand their mother drown. The boys followed her, running along the banks. Miraculously, they pulled her out. These are real heroes," Thiong'o Irungu posted on Facebook.
The story of the two boys went viral on Facebook as netizens hailed their courage and act of bravery.
