Two people were on Tuesday arraigned before an Eldoret court accused of being found in possession of 323 rolls of bhang.

The two, a man and a woman also faced charges of selling alcohol outside the stipulated time as per the Uasin Gishu County Liquor Licensing Board.

According to court documents, the suspects were arrested on 1st April at the Soweto pub in Eldoret west.

Appearing before Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa, the two denied all the charges.

They were released on a bond of Sh100, 0000 with a similar surety or an alternative cash bail of Sh50, 000.

The case will be heard on April 9.

Earlier in the same court, a man charged with rape claimed the complainant framed him due to their relationship differences.

The suspect David Kiptoo Kiprotich is accused of committing the crime on March 28 at Kapkaranga village in Keiyo South of Elgeyo Marakwet county.

He denied the charges and was released on a bond of Sh100, 000.

“Your honor, the rape charge against me is framed meant to intimidate me due to the fragile love relationship between me and the complainant,” the suspect told the court.

The case will be heard on April 10.
