Two middle-aged men were on Monday charged with defiling school girls, in Kangundo and Mwala sub-counties.
The suspects, Boniface Wambua and Mutinda Mbinda appeared before Kangundo senior principal magistrate Desderis Orimba where they both denied the charges.
The first suspect, Wambua was charged with defiling a 17-year-old girl within Kangundo Township on May 19 2016, while Mbinda was charged with defiling a 13-year-old girl in Mbiuni, Mwala sub-county in March 2014. The two were unrepresented.
The prosecution alleged that Mbinda waylaid his victim, who is mentally challenged on her way home from school where he allegedly defiled her in a bush.
However, the court freed the suspects, Wambua and Mbinda on Sh200,000 and Sh300,000 bond respectively pending hearing, but were taken into police custody since they could not immediately raise the required bond.
Wambua's case was set to be heard on July 28, 2016 while Mutinda's case set for hearing on July 7, 2015 and mentioning on June 9 2015.
