Despite its minority in county assemblies across the county, ODM party is struggling to hold on in two crucial counties in Nyanza region.

According to IEBC records, NASA coalition controls 19 counties of the 47, which opposition leader Raila Odinga is using to solidify his People’s Assembly quest.

In Nyamira, which NASA affiliates controls; Governor John Nyagarama is fighting a tight court battle with Jubilee’s Walter Nyambati who challenged his victory.

On Monday, Justice Aaron Makau will make a determination on whether or not Nyambati would be granted voter recount and scrutiny.

“I am confident of a victory because we were robbed. Scrutiny will tell us the truth on what transpired,” Nyambati said.

At Kisii County, Governor James Ongwae is fighting a similar battle in which Jubilee loser Chris Obure has challenged the outcome.

When he received Gusii delegation in Nakuru State Lounge last month, President Uhuru Kenyatta insisted that he will ensure Jubilee takes control of the two counties.

“We know what happened and when the right time comes, we shall go back to the ballot,” Uhuru said.
