Machakos residents will have a two-day lot of sports entertainment this Saturday following a launch of a Karate championship by Machakos County Sports Association chair Fredrick Maingi in collaboration with a Chinese Karate Sports Association.
The championship will attract teams drawn from various counties in Kenya where winners will bag home a cash award of Sh100,000 and a trophy.
The main aim of the championship will be promoting Karate within Machakos County and nurturing the sport within Kenya.
"This is the first Karate championship that will be organized in Machakos this year. We are hereby inviting all karate players and fans from every corner of our country to come and grace this two-day championship," said Maingi.
Maingi reiterated that the championship will be held on Saturday and Sunday and the registration fee for interested participants is Sh200.
However, spectators will be required to pay Sh50 and the payment of the registration fee is Friday.
