Two middle-aged men died on the spot in Mwembe Tayari area after they were involved in a road accident on Sunday evening.
The two were riding on a motorbike that hit a cow that was crossing the Kisii- Kilgoris road before the motorbike landed them in a ditch.
"The rider was speeding and suddenly the cow started crossing the road which led to the accident. They could not evade it because the motorbike was at a very high speed," said Daniel Moracha, a witness.
Kisii central ward representative warned cattle owners against grazing their livestock besides the road.
"We cannot wait and see these cattle cause deaths to our road users. The roads authority should arrest the cattle owners and arraign them in court," said Mogaka.
Cattle grazing beside the highway has been a great threat to road safety in the area for years now.
The bodies were taken to Kisii level 6 mortuary.
