Two people were on Wednesday charged with issuing fake cheques for Sh3.4 million meant for seasonal tickets for various Matatu saccos.
The accused Albert Okendi Mandela and Dominic Nyoike Mburu, however, denied conspiring to defraud City Hall after they issued 18 bouncing cheques for the seasonal tickets.
Director of investigation and information analysis Paul Wachira said that on September 9, the department of parking received 18 copies of bounced cheques that had been paid to City Hall by 12 Matatu Saccos.
The two were granted a Sh100 000 bond each.
The case will be mentioned on November 1.
