Two people have died and 26 others hospitalized due to cholera in Embu County.

According to County Director of Health Stephen Kaniaru, the two died in Siakago and Runyenjes Level Four hospitals where they were receiving treatment.

He further confirmed that a KCPE candidate who had been admitted at the facility had been discharged after showing improvement.

The candidate is expected to sit for his exams on Tuesday.

Also among the sick is a two-year-old girl, a six-year-old boy from Majimbo and a seven-year-old boy from Dallas regions.

He noted that 12 patients were recuperating at Embu Level Five Hospital and others at Kiritiri, Runyenjes and Siakago Level Four hospitals.
