The two were admitted to the Nyayo Ward in Kiambu Level Four Hospital.

It is believed that the patients, like many others at the across the country, had been unattended to since midnight on Sunday.

The hospital's Superintendent Dr.David Kariuki, however, declined to confirm the deaths promising to issue a statement later.

Patients who visited the hospital in the morning were turned away as medics kept off the facility. At least other six patients were reported to have died on Monday across the country as health workers downed their tools.

Doctors, whose 21-day strike notice expired yesterday, are pushing the government to implement a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed in June 2013.

Nurses, through their Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN), declared they would firmly remain on strike until the government responds fully to their demands.
