Two people died on the spot while four others were injured in a grisly road accident at Migaa trading center along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway on Saturday.

The accident, involving two trucks and four other vehicles, occurred near the notorious Salgaa-Sachagwaan stretch, when a truck carrying electricity poles collided with another truck that also involved four other vehicles.

According to a Kenya Red Cross official, the truck carrying poles was trying to overtake a salon car before collided with an oncoming truck.

“The driver of the truck heading to Eldoret was trying to overtake a salon car before colliding head-on with an oncoming truck,” said the Red Cross official.

Both truck drivers perished while four other people survived with serious injuries and are recuperating at Molo District Hospital.

The accident caused a huge traffic snarl up along the highway.

Elsewhere, four people survived death by a whisker, after a lorry rammed into their van at Nakuru town on Friday night.

The driver of the lorry is said to have rammed at the stationed van after he swayed from the road.

According to eyewitnesses, the lorry driver was trying to avoid hitting a pedestrian when he rammed into the van.

The occupants survived with minor injuries, while the driver of the lorry fled from the scene of the accident.
