Two middle-aged men narrowly escaped lynching by an angry mob at Luanda town Friday morning, after they were suspected of stealing from a cyber café
The two smartly dressed gentlemen allegedly stole a video camera at a cyber café, where they had gone to seek for photocopy and lamination services, before hiding the camera in their bag.
The two, after being assured of the services left hurriedly promising to come back, pretending to have forgotten some documents that they were supposed to work on in the cyber.
However, the attendant raised alarm after realising that the camera, which had been there a few moments earlier was missing.
He alerted his neighbours and together pursued the suspects who had a get-away motorbike, but their efforts were hampered by heavy traffic on the Kisumu-Busia road.
However, the camera was recovered after an angry bodaboda operator snatched the bag from the assailants who managed to escape.
“I have managed to recover the camera, though it has a little problem owing to mishandling by the thieves,” said the cyber attendant.
