Police officers in Naivasha on Wednesday arrested two gangsters along Naivasha-Mai Mahiu road.
Naivasha deputy county commissioner Isaac Masinde confirmed the arrests and said police officers recovered two pistols, 8 rounds of ammunition and 920 gas cylinders the suspects had stolen.
Masinde said two other suspects escaped but they are being pursued.
"The gangs were in fake police uniforms when they were ambushed by police near Longonot town where they had blocked a lorry that was transporting the gas cylinders from Nairobi to Western Kenya," said Masinde.
The commissioner assured that police will flush out all criminals hiding in the area.
"No criminal will be allowed to terrorize residents here because police will be on high alert to arrest the gangs. Members of the public should cooperate with police to help with information to arrest the criminals," he said.
