Pius Ogilla and Antony Kamau allegedly committed the offence on the march 30, last year in Muhoroni, after a disagreement with the owner who was also their employer.

In passing the sentence, Chief Magistrate Esther Maina said that the two should observed the law in solving their differences.

“If your employer had wronged you, we have police whom you could have reported rather than engaging in the shameful act,” said Maina

The court earlier heard that the accused had been hired by Samsom Ocholla as casual labourers on his farm to assist in weeding.

After working for a week, Ocholla inspected the farm only to find that the two had carried out a shoddy work.

He decided to pay them half the agreed amount, something which angered them.

After a heated argument, they proceeded to his granary, where they burned over 100 bags of maize, and also smashed the windows of his lorry.

Police were called in to intervene and managed to arrest the two.

In their defence, they said it was anger to blame for their actions.

They were given fourteen days to appeal the decision.
