Two fans of Kenya’s top football club, Gor Mahia have perished in a road accident along Mombasa Road.
The accident occurred in Mlolongo town, few metres from Mulleys Supermarket in Machakos County.
The fans were headed to a match at the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos town during the incident.
An eye witness said the fans were hanging dangerously on the vehicle they had boarded before the incident.
Speaking at the scene, Mlolongo chief Peter Ndunda said the two who had not been identified were among the funs who were hanging on the hired bus which was moving to Machakos town from Nairobi during the incident.
Other victims of the accident have been rushed to Shalom Community Hospital in Athi River .
This is the second fatal accident to happen along the busy Mombasa Road today.
Nine people died after the vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a stalled truck at Kwa Mwambi in Machakos County early this morning.
Police confirmed that six people died on the spot, two other on their way to Machakos Level Five Hospital while another one while receiving treatment at the same health facility hours after the accident.
The latest accident makes the number of casualties from the two accidents to eleven in less than 24 hours on the same road, same county.
