Paul Njuguna was sentenced by principal magistrate Felix Kombo, after he was charged that on February 23, at Free area, he was found riding a motor cycle without insurance, which is against traffic rules in Kenya

According to the prosecution, the accused was on the material day intercepted along Nakuru-Nairobi by traffic police officers, and upon inspection, he was found having not insured the motor bike.

He was arrested and taken to central police station before being arraigned in court.

The accused asked for leniency saying he had tried in vain to secure the insurance.

Separately in the same court, a driver was charged with obstruction.

Benson Mwaniki was arrested, while driving along Nakuru-Eldoret highway by Police officers, for allegedly obstructing the road on March 9, this year.

The accused told the court that his vehicle had mechanical problems and was released on a cash bail of Sh15,000 and the matter will be heard on May 13.
