Two men were arraigned before a Mombasa Law Court to answer to charges of being in possession of an animal trophy.
The two accused persons, Samuel Karisa James and Amani Ngala were being accused of allegedly having a python snakeskin.
The prosecution told the court that the accused persons were arrested while in possession of the python snakeskin which estimated to have a street value of Sh100,000.
The court heard that the two accused persons committed the offense on June 1, at Mama Ngina, Mombasa where they were arrested without a permit.
The two accused persons, however, denied the charges before the court and filed an application to be released on bail pending the next case hearing.
Mombasa senior principal magistrate Henry Nyakweba granted the application and ordered for the two to be released on a bond of Sh100,000 or Sh50,000 cash bail.
The case is set for hearing on June 18 this year.
