Two middle-aged men were on Monday charged before a Nakuru law court for forging premium insurance documents.
Martin Nzumbua and Laban Ngunjiri allegedly pretended to be Old Mutual Insurance sales personnel and altered premium contribution forms in a bid to dupe officials from Nakuru County government.
They wanted the officials to sign up and contribute monthly to the insurance firm.
Joyce Towett, Rose Akinyi and Jeff Waro who are county officials were to part with a sum of Sh30,000 but they became suspicious and reported the matter at Central Police station where investigations were launched immediately.
The two accused persons who appeared before Chief Magistrate David Kemei were released on Sh100,000 bond pending the hearing of the matter.
The case was set for hearing on October 11.
