Two people were arrested in Murang’a for allegedly found distributing inciting leaflets.

During the Saturday operation,  a campaign truck and a personal car belonging to a governor seat candidate  were also impounded.

According to Murang’a county commander Naomi Ichami, there were prior reports that some people were planning to circulate the leaflets seeking to discredit a particular candidate.

The leaflets written in Kikuyu were aimed at incumbent governor Mwangi Wa Iria who they portrayed as a corrupt governor.

“I am warning all politicians to desist from actions that may breach peace and no one will be spared if they contravene the law because we want people to have peaceful elections” she said.
