Peter Okome and Martin Mulanda denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lucy Gitari for the offence they are alleged to have committed in May 30 this year in Kisumu’s Milimani Estate.

The court heard that the two gained access into the compound of Catherine Akinyi on the evening of the material day through a fence after which they allegedly broke the door locks before entering the house.

Complainant Akinyi is said to had tried to call for help but stopped saying that the two accused threatened to kill her if she raised any alert.

She told the court that the two accused left her with face and back injuries which made her to seek treatment in an hospital.

Among the items allegedly stolen from the house include, two television sets, decoder, laptop, two mobile phones and unknown sum of money.

The matter was reported to Kisumu Central Police Station where investigations were launched leading to the arrest of the two in Kondele Estate. Akinyi successfully identified them as her attackers.

The Prosecution Desk asked the court to remand the two for one more extra week as some of the stolen items were yet to be recovered. The Prosecution Desk’s wish was granted by Magistrate Gitari. The two will now appear in court next week on Thursday for the hearing of the case.
