A woman and a bodaboda operator were seriously injured after a saloon car drove into the motorcycle they were travelling on near Shabab centre on Sunday evening.
According to eyewitness accounts, the car driver was allegedly drunk and lost control of the car leading to the accident.
"There was nothing serious that caused the accident, the driver of the car kept on swaying from side to side before hitting the bodaboda from behind," noted Perus Njenga, an eye witness.
The bodaboda operator sustained a fracture on his left arm while the woman sustained very serious leg injuries.
Police at the Shabab AP Post were forced to lock up the driver for some time before she could sober up and record a statement.
"Drinking and driving is punishable by the law and she has to be punished for endangering other road users' lives because of her carelessness and irresponsibility," an officer said.
