Two people have been admitted in hospital in critical condition after the motorcycle they were riding hit a goat.
A witness said the owner of the animals was driving his animals home when a motorcycle that was at high speed crashed into the herd at Barut shopping centre in Rhonda village.
The herder himself was not injured but fled the scene shortly after the accident.
Rhonda west chief Samson Koech said the motorcycle was speeding when it hit the goat at around 6pm.
He said the rider and his passenger were rushing to Nakuru town to catch a bus to Western Kenya and which was supposed to depart at 7pm.
The chief cautioned riders against riding speeding especially in remote areas as many people do not understand the traffic rules.
“It is better to ride at moderate speeds where you can control your motorcycle to avoid accidents like this,” he said.
Koech added that motorcycle accidents are on the rise and there is need to be careful on the roads to avoid accidents and loss of lives.
The two victims are admitted at Nakuru County hospital for treatment.
