Opposition Leader Raila Odinga and Siaya Senator James Orengo are very close allies and some of the political bigwigs in Kenya at the moment.
Orengo has worked with Odinga for the past ten years and is among the former Premier's trusted lieutenants.
Last year, he led a team of lawyers that successfully petitioned against the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta during the August election.
Despite being close, there are two instances where the two rubbed shoulders in the past:
In 2002, Senator Orengo ditched Odinga's camp and vied for Presidency under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Raila did not support Orengo and instead supported Mwai Kibaki with the famous 'Kibaki tosha' slogan.
According to Orengo, Odinga helped the wrong man ascend Presidency, a factor that made them part ways politically in 2002.
The two politicians also fell out in 1996 during the Ford-Kenya party elections in which Raila contested against Kijana Wamalwa.
That time, Orengo teamed up with the late Kijana Wamalwa, whom he said enjoyed good relations with Jaramogi.
