Political analyst Dismas Mokua has advised Deputy President William Ruto against a section of his close allies.
Speaking on Radio Citizen on Tuesday, the commentator cautioned that Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei and Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi could be the reason for Ruto’s failure in the 2022 presidential race.
He faulted the two for their over-protection of the DP lately, with regards to the proposed lifestyle audit, noting that their remarks that it is aimed at victimizing Ruto will raise suspicions on his integrity.
‘’Akina Cherargei na Sudi ndio wanaomharibia Ruto sifa. Wanaposema kwamba hii audit inamlenga, huenda wakenya wakashuku na kijiuliza wasiwasi wao ni wa nini? (by alleging that the audit is aimed at Ruto they are raising suspicions over Ruto's integrity and giving Kenyans a reason to have doubts on Ruto),’’ he said.
‘’Kwa sababu ya matamshi yao, wakenya huenda wakadhani wanajaribu kuficha kitu na labda kuna wizi mahali (Kenyans will start start thinking that they are hiding something, maybe some theft of public coffers somewhere),’’ he added.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has also raised similar concerns, claiming that the audit which was proposed by President Uhuru Kenyatta was crafted by forces keen on ensuring that Ruto doesn’t make it to statehouse come 2022.
