[PHOTO/risejamaica.org]Two Kenyan women have been arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) with drugs being shipped to Bangkok in Thailand.
One of the women had ingested pellets of heroin and was arrested Monday evening as she prepared to board a flight set to connect to Bangkok via Addis Ababa.
Police said the 28-year-old had ingested some 79 pellets which she was to sell in Thailand.
By Tuesday evening, she had emitted 43 pellets.
According to Police, she was under observation and is going to be charged after all the pellets have been retrieved.
The second person was arrested in Mlolongo after the first suspect informed police that she was the one that had supplied the heroin.
"The woman arrested at the airport was a mule and was recruited by the second woman, who was arrested hours after the trafficker was detained," a police officer said.
The woman's passport indicated that she was a frequent traveller to Asian countries.
