Kenyan duo of Collins Injera and Oscar Ouma has been selected as part of the dream team of the just concluded Vancouver IRB series tournament.
The duo was instrumental in Kenya’s run to the final of the tournament, where they lost 32-19 to Fiji. Ouma and Injera slot alongside Dylan Sage (South Africa), Nasoko (Fiji), Sali (Fiji), Baker (USA) and Porch as the tourney’s best squad.
Kenya staged a stellar performance in the tournament, which included a 24-19 win over the USA in a dramatic semifinal match, setting up a date against Fiji in the cup final.
They saw off defending champions England in the quarters, 12-0 to reach the cup semifinal, a first win against the English side since 2011.
The team had earlier finished second in Pool C after posting two wins against France (14-7) and Spain (43-0) before losing 24-21 to Fiji.
Shujaa Sevens are at 8th position with 19 points in the Series table, following seventh-placed England as Fiji moves to second place.
South Africa still tops the table as Papua New Guinea comes last in position 16.
