President Uhuru Kenyatta shocked Kenyans in this year’s election after managing to gather many votes in two National Super Alliance (NASA) strongholds.
Jubilee’s strategy seems to have really played to their advantage and has seen the president lead in the race for the State House as of Tuesday.
Despite Nasa leader Raila Odinga’s claims of a rigged electoral process, results released by IEBC have shown that Jubilee leader Uhuru Kenyatta managed to garner a lot of support in Nyamira and Bungoma.
In 2013 incumbent President Kenyatta was only able to gather 42,988 votes in Bungoma, however this time round he was able to gather 123,804 votes.
Raila Odinga managed 185,419 in 2013 and this year he was able to gather 281,675 votes.
Along with this President Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party was able to seize four parliamentary seats in the county.
Candidates include John Waluke (Sirisia), Fred Kapondi (Mt Elgon), Didimus Wekesa Barasa (Kimilili) and Dan Wanyama (Webuye West).
During his campaigns in the two regions, the Jubilee leader made promises to the residents to work together with them in developing the counties and asked that they give him another fiver years to show them.
