[Photo/the-star] Two people lost their lives on Thursday morning after two lorries collided near Malili town on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.Confirming the incident, Mukaa OCPD Charles Muthui said the driver and turnboy from one of the trucks perished on the spot while passengers in the second lorry sustained serious injuries.The injured victims were rushed to Machakos hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the facility's mortuary.Despite the unfortunate incident, residents were seen scrambling for miraa at the scene of an accident.Incidences of accidents have been reported in the past few days which have left tens of Kenyans dead. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy sent warning to motorists to be careful in this festive season and asked police to take stern warning on those who will be caught breaking the traffic law.
